Description

haven't uploaded anything for several months because my Dad broke his hip the day after Christmas and died from congestive heart failure two months later (he was 89). During this period and another month I've been on Med Leave for depression and fairly medicated. This was the first inspiration I've had since then and comes from a dream about the Mona Lisa (which I have an obsession about) where she morphed into HR Giger's style (which I also am obsessed with). Hope you like it. John

That's a serious twist on both subjects. Awesome! ...and glad you're up to creating.

I had misread it as "Mona Ginger", but now I read your caption and agree, it's Giger to the max.

Sometimes great adversity leaves little echos of inspiration. An exceptional piece John. Glad to see you feel up to posting. I look forward to more.

Life is so full of challenges. My dad passed away last year at the age of 83 A month ago, a friend of mine lost his only son (13), who collapsed inexplicably during warmups at soccer practice. Nonetheless, life is worth its price. Life isn't measured in months or years, or how many breaths you breathe. It's measured in moments, a hug, a kiss, a realization, an accident, memories and those rare and delightful events which take your breath away. Short moments of adrenaline which make you long for more: in some ways, life's a drug, and just like many other drugs, if you have too much of it, in the end you know you'll die of it. Ironically, this is the one drug you're encouraged to take whenever and as much of as you possibly can.

Interesting image that has a very Giger-ish feel to it. Nice beetle too, is that a scarab?
