Description
I borrowed my flatmate's bike and cycled to the very end of the beach in st andrews today, which is special for two reasons... i have never been to the end of the beach so i didnt know what to expect, and the last time i got on a bike was probably about 7 years ago.
So anyway, this is possibly my favourite from that little expedition.. but i have a whole load more to come.
As for the name - the translation means "onwards, forever onwards." and it is taken from the last line of a spanish (and for saying the next word some might disagree) novel entitled "Soldados de Salamina" by Javier Cercas. Note i said last "line"... because in fact this is the last five words of a sentence which (thanks to the flexibility of the spanish language and precedent of it's use) runs for almost the entirety of the last page of the book! (and if you think that is crazy, the penultimate line runs for two whole pages... ;))
For those who like an insightful and thoughtful read, then i highly recommend the book. If you find your spanish is a little rusty... ;) ...you can find the English translation under the name "Soldiers of Salamis".
Enjoy!

So why footprints and not tyre tracks??!! LOL! I just love the blue tones of the sky with the odd scattered cumulous cloud to break it. the sand is beautifully untouched with the ripples of the water still intact (with the exception of the footprints, which add character!) Great tranquil scene, beautifully captured. xx

Glad to hear you got a bit of excercise, heheh. All of your recent images have been striking, but I really like the stories this conjurs up and what you have told to go along with it. Your footprints I assume? ;']
