Description

Notes: Okay first off this render is purely terrible, I'll be the first to admit it. However after days of peeking at the thumbnails in the sci-fi gallery and not seeing one image that featured Davo's new MACH mech I had to put something up... anything. This COULD have been a good render with more work, but I had to cut it short, so it is what it is. No I'm not happy with it and no I'm not looking for any pity comments about it being okay. Now having got that out of the way, the mech itself and it's expansion pack are very cool peices of hardware to work with. The mech itself is somewhat remenincent of the Roughrider Maurder mechs, which suits me fine. There are several pre-assembled versions as well as build your own parts like most of Davo's stuff, along with texture packs to help it fit into the SHARD and PARSECS universes. On the downside it's textures are not built for DAZ, hence the extreme glossy effect you see here although it's using the same Urban MAT as the other peices in the scene. This can most likely be fixed by adjusting the glossyness manually for each peice, also the Green and Worn Metal mats look okay only a bit shiny I haven't tested the other ones yet. Overall this is a fine additon to a runtime libary, and the MACH and it's expansion are available at DAZ, I suggest you look at the product images there before dismissing it, it's a worthy investment if you can afford it, like most of Davo's products it's not especially cheap but it's versaltality should take the sting out of the cost. With the March Madness, other freebies and sales, and finally joining the Platnum Club I've more clothing, equipment, vehicals, mechs, etc then I know what to do with, so perhaps it's best to put test images like this one up while sorting through everything... I don't know. I'm just so very tired....

Wow ya there is much you can do with all these goodies. They look great. I love that mach. Will be great for some action renders. I am gonna have to check that out. Take a break and get some rest. Sometimes I get burnt too and just a day or two from art gives me a refreshing new view and new exhuberance! PS I love using DAZ but for some reason my renders never look quite as beautiful as Poser. I really want to figure out why and fix it! Best wishes!

Not a bad one at all! Great! Would love to see the toys in action! The tank looks great and he could cause some serious harm ;-)

Oh my God...What a crappy image...lol...(satisfied ???)...lol...;-) No kidding...i haven't got your keen eye for quality on the mech stuff buti sure as hell can tell you that what i see here looks okay to me !!! It's quite impressive (although you hate my guts for telling this...;-)...Having to adapt the glossiness makes it so much more versatile...I constantly tweek with the settings of my objects...(sometimes i spent more time tweeking and test rendering then anything else...lol...Would love to see these beauties in an awesome battle scene though !!! I am sure you can come up with something that can make stare us in awe at... Don't let it get you down..take a small break and new and refreshed visions will appear...:-) Take care hon, and hang in there !!!

Don't have the mechs yet (Oh my aching wallet!), but I just picked up his Flagship. Get stuff for SciFi scenes. I hope to have ALL his stuff someday. It's so versatile with all the different textures. :)

I personally don't think this image is "purely terrible" at all! Your art always inspires me to utilize some of the sci fi stuff i've purchased over the years...I just need to find the mood to get started in that genre. If I may, I think this image is great and does a fine job of showing off the new mech. My only unsolicited tip would be the lighting. Spot lighting plus highlights could make these different textures and metals stand apart from one another, not to mention setting the mood. Understand that this is not a criticism, just an observation. You really did a great job of showing off some cool new toys!
