Description

I had created several pieces dedicated to authors over the last 3 years. One of my favorites just passed yesterday at the grand age of 84, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. A very funny and cutting edge Author known primarily for his Science Fiction novels, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. was a very big part of my reading life from 1969-1987 .. Dates me ha ha :) So it goes... This piece is an abstract based on one picture of water. One of my first publicly viewed art, the title is derived from a novel called "Cats Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., referring to a terror plot that artificially freezes bodies of water. Some of my favorite (paraphrased) quotes from Kurt include: "The Cigarette packs are telling me on the side that they will kill me ... That has not happened yet." Kurt Vonnegut Jr. in 2006 at the age of 83 "Most people lose their tools, but my absent minded brother loses what he is working on." The year of this quote I believe was late 70''s, and I believe a part of an intro to a book.. All the best R'R, been very busy, will be back soon! Kurt

Thanks all for your comments!! This particular piece (Ice 9) has been purchased 4 times in various sizes/frames over the past 3 years. While I have sold many other pieces, normally it is one to 15 within a series of 20. My biggest seller of all time is "Fireflies in Soulard" with a total of 45 in various sizes/frames. Now a question to my R'R friends .. I sell art/photographs in my local area, as many of you do as well. I think it would be cool to add an R'R store for completed ART/PHOTOGRAPHY, to complement the backgrounds and Poser/3/D models that are already available. I'd really like to see R'R adding a selling area for us with completed art that can be delivered. Thoughts? I know, this is more of a forum question for sure, but I'm a bit behind schedule on other projects. :) All the best, Kurt

Wonderful piece of abstract art, Kurt. I love the colors and simple lines. Were you named after this wonderful author? He is one of my favorites, just because of the way he thought. My favorite work is a short story..."Welcome To The Monkey House". I loved his mind so much. About your question, I think you should work out some details of how it could work and then submit the idea to Administration. There is a lot to consider in such a venture, but I would like to see it available, if feasible. Best to you, and hope we see more of you soon. Hugs, Suzanne
