Description

Ok don't slam me too hard... I know it's not quite in focus, in 100% original size the eye is out by like 1 pixel thou, so it might just be motion blur from him flying into a shadow... Anyway - this is the first shot I've actually managed to get of a bird in flight/motion that's good. So I carried on taking shots and seems like I could get the hang of it. So I'll be posting much better shots in the next few days, but as that was the one that inspired me to stay and try harder, it thought I'd give it the honours... Shot at Canary Wharf. P.S. I know the highlights look burnt out - it's all due to my editing in efforts to get the colours to pop and not have the image too flat.

...not bad for a first Action shot (-: / Fine thing with that reflection make it more interesting. Last week i tried to get a much slowlier animal, a Duck for first, but that Model dont keep still (-; and then i known that i have to learn really much more in Photography.

I love the light reflections from the water on the bird, and the reflection of the bird in the water. That really enhances the interest, imho!

An excellent start, birds in flight are hard enough to capture, let alone get the settings correct, especially if it is a bright sunny day Stuart

It's okay that it might be slightly out of focus, and it's just fine that some highlights were blown out - this is a great shot! Full of motion, full of energy and anticipation - well done!
