I've been following that storm, thought about you! Glad that you missed the bulk of it. This morning they say all flights to and from NY and NJ have been canceled. Amazing weather...Super shots Richard! [=

This is one of the things I do not miss about Kansas. The one of the trees is amazing, showing the force of the wind. Head for the basement if you have one. I'm glad you are alright I thought of you went I saw the pictures on the news. Take care Richard. bonita

Yes it certainly does look like there was some convection in the clouds. I find these storms very frightening---yet strangely fascinating. Awesome photos!

Very dramatic set of images. I don't think I have enough nerve to chase a tornado. I'll save that bit of heroism for someone else. ;c)

Good quadrant of shots depicting the impending ferociousness of nature. Those black clouds look truly ominous. Kind of looks like watercolor art. For your sake, glad is didn't develop into a tornado.

Fantastic set of pictures! I got to fly over the area from Atlanta to California and had a roller coaster ride from about Alabama to Arizona due to the thunderstorms in the area and your tornado. Excellent captures. Bunny

Sure looks like it would have been a tornado in a few more seconds. Scarey stuff.

We actually had clouds just like that here on Thursday!! I caught shots of one that looks just like yours!!! They are rare in California but they do happen - luckily they don't get that big but still a bit scary seeing the beginnings just like this one! We have a cellar which is also rare in CA - I was kinda glad for that fact this day! I would have overcome my fear of the Black Widows down there immediately - I've seen the destruction first hand in Iowa when visiting family - not a pretty sight. Sorry for the loss of life on this day and thank you for sharing this moment in time with us.

Outstanding pictures. Looks as though you were in for a real storm and I am glad it didn't turn into a tornado at your place. We did have some news coverage of the tornado of your last posting and it looks to have caused a huge mess. A shame 2 lost their lives. They must be very frightning to experience. Thank goodness they are very rare in New Zealand.
