Description
The bay area hills are still green from the winter rains..image taken this week..our natural landscape here turns brown during the summer months as there is no rainfall usually from June through September...

would it be too obvious to call it a pastoral scene? the cows are beautiful as the pastoral settings

I used to think the reason they called us the Golden State was because everything turns golden in the summer as the rains end and the temperatures climb towards 100. Then I found out it was a combination of the Gold Rush and the Grizzly Bear that gave it that name and not the toasted fields... :-) Green it is right now and with rain all day today I imagine it will stay that way for awhile yet. Nice tranquil shot!

Up here they tell us that happy cows come from California. These cows look pretty danged happy to me! :) I like this photo. We actually have plenty of happy cows of our own up here, and this is a lovely, familiar scene. Thanks for posting it!
