Description

This beautiful tall ship has a berth in Whitby Harbour. I snapped her coming back into harbour a few weeks ago. One of these days I will see her under full sail :-) I am told she is up for sale, if I had a couple of million pounds to spare I would buy her, to keep her here with us in Whitby. Huenersh/Dear Rey, this one is special for you. Happy, sunny Sunday to all. Hugs Diane.

Thank you all for comments, @Zorg1955/dear Jean Louis, no we did not sail on, too expensive for David and I, eight pounds each, sterling to board the ship :-( We watched from the pier like "poor relations" LOL. More hugs. Diane.

Beautiful shot! And a bit of a ripoff to ask 8 pounds to go on deck of a nice but not really historical relevant boat. Glad you passed.

This is the 40 percent scale replica of the Bark Endeavour, built by a local trust to celebrate a local hero Captain Cook http://www.endeavourwhitby.com/endeavour.html The Grand Turk is a full scale replica of a 1741 ship HMS Blandford. Good catch in fine light on a breezy day.

Great shot Di - love the vivid colours and the whole scenery is fantastic, it could almost be a mediterranean scene rather than a North Yorkshire one LOL! I like the little lighthouse in the background too. One day I'll come up north and pay a visit here and we can all step aboard for a sunny afternoon's sail together. xx

What a great shot this is, Diane. I do like Whitby and every other year our Y5/6 children spend a week there and always love the experience. Enjoy the rest of this sunny weekend. Hugs, Eileen.*****

Three of my favorite subjects all at once - ships, lighthouse and ocean... A wonderful shot! the stone and wood paired in this gives good strength to the shot. Excellent.
