I'm a color pencil artist originally. Some years ago I got the first Painter program called Dabbler. Didn't like it. I went on to get Bryce, then when Painter6 came out, I got that. Been in the digital world of art ever since. Been a member of Renderosity for quite a few years. It really is the best site there is. I believe. I'm a Clinical therapist in the mental health field by occupation. It pays the bills, but it doesn't fulfill the soul like my art. Still, I'm facinated with the "why" of the way people think, feel, and behave. The dynamics of the human condition is infinite, for good or ill.
I keep trying to improve my computer art skills through examples and pieces of other artists on Renderosity. Sometimes I feel like I want to run away and hide because I can't measure up to many of the other artists. Then, when I get comments as well as provide comments, I realize this is not about competition or competing, it's about learning and supporting each other to become better artists.
I also play music and was in a band for a number of years. Sold a song to a record company but nothing ever came of it. I even record my music on the computer now through a program called Cubase. Naively or otherwise, I see myself as a writer too. Trying to get the novel in my head onto paper. Genre? Fantasy/scifi of course.

Nicely done - the waves are fantastic and the emotional appeal of man and dog is great, too. It seems, to my eye, that the neck on the man is a bit thin/long. Possibly the addition of a collar would cur this problem very easily. Minor thing though. This is fantastic work.

I like the glow that the moonlight has on your water, that combined with the dominate blues create a romantic mood. The forground greens and their sugested detail play inportant role in creating illusion of depth. Sharp changes in tonal differences (as well as purity in Hue) will push forward in the image, the tone of man and dog do this more successfully than the sea area close to the viewer. Either the figures need to be lightened slightly to match the tonal quality of the large rock near them (creating distance between them and viewer), or posably the forground contrasted slightly in areas to match the figures intensity of dark, therefore bringing the forground water even closer to the viewer. Alternatively the forground can also be made to protrude better by combining subtle colour use with slight tone emphasis. You have combined 3D and 2D very well. It is difficult to read it as anything but a hand made painting, and a lovely one at that. ...Di (Hexagonal Mandala)

This is excellent- whatever you painted works. The image begs to have a story written about it. So, you have managed to create levels of imagination too.
