Description

"What manner of beings inhabits yon distant shore? Are they enlightened, benevolent and peaceful? Are they barbaric, vicious and warlike? Are they stout of limb and giant in girth? Are they willowy and petite of build? All I can say with certainty in my heart, is that in some essential way, they are like us." ~ Theo

A mudcastle along the shore of a Lake Colby in Lake Helen, FL. The water level is very low and some of the locals took the opportunity to play in the exposed muddy bottom. It is said that back in the early 1900s when Florida was being further explored and established, that all one had to do was sink a 5-10 foot pipe into the ground and fresh water would gush out of it. That is why there were no cellars in South Florida. Today, people need to excavate wells over 100 feet deep to reach any kind of water. I worry for what we are doing to our planet... A wonderful pyramid occupied by those white aliens! Sorry but I thought the same! A fantastic IR photography! I'm not sure whether it is my monitor but it looks that the sky has got a light blue color! Are the white alien a kind of sea animals? Especially two of them looks so! Thanks for sharing this wonderful beach scene!!!

It is so interesting how the greens turn white. I almost didn't recognize the plumes as vegetation! It looks like someone buried Marvin the martian and left his hat exposed. lol Nice muddy catch.

Well I have no idea what those little "hairy" things are on the mud pile but they do add a great focal point. I love the DOF and the atmosphere created by the IR. Excellent again Kort. xx

Impressive image, the tones are fantastic. Your words are true, I also worry about the ecological destruction, we will get the quittance for that. Anyhow, an excellent shot!

Now, isn't that an interesting work of art? Just go to show you that anything can be used to create art. Super find and capture. You are the only one concerned about our planet. The wake up call has already been sung.

Sure looks like an alien landscape. Take me to your leader, and all that stuff. Actually, this is what our planet will look like, say, in fifty years. In any event, neat POV, DOF and textural effects in this study.
