Description
Inspired by every bad photo my family has taken of me.
Also, someone mentioned in "Bleak Future after a Hard Night's Singing" (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1412355) that some of the posters on the wall could use variety, but it probably wouldn't be worth changing them. Somehow that actually gave me inspiration... This will be replacing one of the posters in my futuristic idol singer's room; it's an impromptu snapshot of her and a relative.
Vie attends a family celebration held for her cousin Eve, newly appointed to the Space Force. As a performer, Vie can't stand to not be the center of attention for more than a few moments, so she horns in on Eve's photo opp. Unfortunately, Vie's mother took this picture of them, and proves that even cameras of the future are not entirely mom-proof.
To clarify: This is poorly-lit, cropped, red-eyed, and flat on purpose. I was having fun with this until it dawned on me that I would have to finish building and furnishing the living room (which is purposely monochromatic metal, plastic, and concrete) of that apartment from "Bleak Future" for a background. Now it's made me get a week behind comments in the critique group (Sorry!) and for other pics I've planned.
Couldn't figure out what to do with Vie's bodysuit (which is the fashion statement of that era) since she's not on stage and not going for an elegant look; she just wants to be seen. I can't buy other suits or textures right now, so I just threw something together that's slightly flamboyant. The symbols on her are the Japanese character "ai" for love. Was looking for an Asian print, or to pattern some "ai's" as a print, but thought it would be a bit much. She also turned out a little darker than I wanted her.
If you're wondering, "It's a party, where are the guests and decorations?" "At least where's the cake?" Answer: Because I wanted to get on with my life, otherwise I'd stay lost in details for months!
Probably won't do much more to this; it's only meant be a background photo in another picture, after all! But critiques are very much welcomed.
Background built and rendered in 3ds max; HDR image rendered in Max and used for P7 IBL lighting; then rendered in P7 against BG photo.

Very nice image! Inspiration can come from anywhere. You did well. Like Ladonna said I Love the expression too.

Great work. The expressions are great and I love the addition of the red eyes on the girl on the right.

I like the use of depth of field, and the somewhat over-exposed (overlit) approach to producing a well-made but deliberately "un-artistic" image. It reminds me a lot of Charisma Carpenter in Angel -- a good actress portraying a bad actress. (So whenever they had a bit where she was acting within the show, she was really quite bad.)

Mum should buy a new camera with a "remove red eyes filter" built-in! They are very cheap now in the 23th century! Great image! I love their clothes and expressions!
Tissaia
Great idea, nicely executed. I like motion blur you added and those red eyes :)

Hard to crit a photo that 'Mom' took. You did a good job of making an image look like a poorly taken photograph. The expressions on the characters are spot on. :)

I really dig the selection of plumage, peacock vs. dove, and the expressions match perfectly. No complaints at all except the hand posing for Vie is a bit weak - part of that may just be the motion blur in the foreground, but the right hand could use some change. I understand where you're going with the "bad snapshot" idea, but that right hand just looks strange beyond that. Neat idea and well executed otherwise.

A great picture. After reading the story behind, I have nothing to critisize - good idea, great realisation. A really good picture.

Super stuff! I love the facial expressions! Plus the red eyes, that makes me so laugh! Love it! Thanks for stopping into my gallery recently!

nice work, fun concept

The facial expressions are great and I also love the motion blur on her hand :) The only thing I can see is that the redheads neck should cast a bit more shadow on the other girls arm. Very nice work :) Cheers!
