Description
Hi @ all.
Wow, finally finished this one. It's inspired by the "Saga of Seven Suns" written by Kevin J. Anderson. Fantastic Space-Epic in seven books. Everybody who is into Science Fiction should read it. I'm in the middle of book three now and I can say it's a pageturner.
The original picture is 11100x4550 at 300 dpi. I want this critter as a poster, therefore some details got lost while downsizing it to fit in here. In the black fields are stars, nothing fancy just simple starfields without nebula or other stuff.
The Sun, Oceanworld, Gasgiant and Moon where rendered in Vue 5, textures created in Photoshop, final composition also Photoshop. Worktime: about 20 hours without rendering.
I hope you people like it.
Have fun.

Edit: Ok, here's the reworked version.
1. I gave the picture a new border.
2. I added some flares to the sun.
3. I got rid of the edges above the planets and sun.
4. I created a new earth and think this one is more fitting. It adds the fourth color and therefore variety.
Enjoy!

very cool idea. the materials look great. one suggestion is that the font for the element names is a bit boring. maybe change the font to soething that resembles each element? or maybe just someting a bit more interesting. IMHO of course.. ;) nice job!! -chachi

Beautiful textures. I especially like 'earth'.
