Description

Born and raised on Tego, Mary Blackstone has no true attachment to Earth. As a child, she only wanted to visit her father's root planet to see what all the fuss was about. Despite her being the daughter to the third sheriff of the town of Damnation, she lived the life of a normal child. Watching Spacers come in and out of port, playing hide and seek with the other children in the Singing Caves and if she was not watching an old sci-fi movie, then she was getting into all kinds of trouble with her best friend Rachel Woods. She was always good with puzzles and solving mysteries. An excellent debater, she decided to pursue a career in politics. She had good friends, good parents and a good life, until she was 15. Sheriff Kenneth Blackstone was running for his second term as sheriff and was giving a speech one night when seven men abducted Mary. They raped and then beat her to within an inch of her life. They then tied her naked body in the front of her house with the words "QUIT OR DIE" painted on her forehead and left her there for dead. While in the hospital, her father discovered that, because of the circumstances, she would most likely become pregnant. When the doctor asked her father if he should perform an abortion, Mary grabbed his arm and indicated that she did not want one. A few weeks later, when she was stronger, convinces her father to continue to run for office and then told him "Don't worry daddy, I will take care of those bastards." After she gave birth to her daughter, Destiny Ann, she began training in hand-to-hand combat. Three years later, she put her plan in motion and made contact with the only man in that group who tried not to participate in her ordeal but was forced to do so at gunpoint. With his help, she tracked down the other six, lured them all to the place where they raped her and then took her revenge. She beat them all up badly, got them to confess to the crime and then turned them over to the Marshal. All but the one who helped her was sentenced to life in prison (He received a reduced sentence of 10 years after helping to convict the others.). The Marshal was so impressed with Mary, that he gave her a full scholarship to pursue law enforcement, which she accepted so that she "Can help stop that kind of dirt from ever hurting anyone else." After she graduated from Stanford University on Earth, at the top of her class, she returned to Tego. Her father, now retired, helped her secure a deputy position with his successor: Sheriff Timothy Gains. Strong-minded, resourceful and loyal, Deputy Mary Blackstone has proven to be an essential asset to Sheriff Billy Ways and the port town of Damnation.
