Description

So... where have I been you might or might not have been wondering :-D Well... I've been shooting a train series and a classic truck series as well. But life turned an interesting corner when we went on a simple outing to the Farmer's Market in Davis, CA. There happened to be live music and a band that was incredible and catered to the children! They had a little drum set put up next to them so the kids could line up and take turns "playing along" and what a time my kids had! I of course had my camera along and decided that not only did I need to document this wonderful experience that my children were having but also try my hand at a little band photography. Well I took about 500 pictures that hour LOL and met the leader of the band, MusicMatt! I told him I'd bring him a CD of the pictures I took while practicing... then I visited his MySpace page which lead to my adding him as a friend on my MySpace page which lead to me messaging him to take a peek at three pics I'd had time to "work". Well... that then led to a return message of WOW OMG AWESOME and a question of "do you do head shots?" He not only leads up two bands but has a recording studio as well! So you can imagine the chaos of life around here now as I realize that my dream might just be starting to come true! And life is about to become very interesting to say the least!! So... here's the WOW picture he saw... I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!! It's the turning point pic of my life!!!! Fingers crossed and holding our breath here at home!!! I thank you so very much for your time viewing and/or commenting on my work and for reading the novel above ;-) Have a lovely Sunday! Lisa

Congrats Lisa! Great how opportunity presents itself when you are positive and ready! This is an awesome capture! Love the tilt and color manipulation of the ride cymbal (or high-hat?) I can't tell from this angle! It really brings it to life and gives it a shimmery edge just like when it is played. Excellent job and I can see why MusicMatt was impressed. You go girl!
