Description

Captured 4/17/07, around 7:30 am, during my customary walk around the mean streets of my town. By mean streets, I'm talking about the stares I get from the inhabitants when seeing me in the area with a camera. In any event, folks, HAPPY EARTH DAY! I chose this lovely white rose, so elegant in its simplicity, and as pure as the driven snow...or, for that matter, a bar of Ivory soap, to commemorate this fine day. I'm talking about keeping our tormented planet clean, and not about global warming, which is a whole different issue. By clean, I mean reducing toxic emissions, ceasing the tragic destruction of the rain forests, stopping the dumping of toxic waste and chemicals into the oceans, lakes and rivers, not throwing hot dog wrappers out the car window when driving, no more cruddy trash by the curbs and in parking lots, no more ugly, unintelligible graffiti, etc. Just have some respect for the environment. Let's stop soiling our nest! With that fervent appeal, I leave you now with a hearty thank you for the visit, and have an especially nice day!
