Description

First off, let me say that I do believe in God and have much of an open mind...I hope. I was watching a show not all too long ago about the search for Atlantis. When they got to the critical moment of discovery---BAM---their machines failed...almost every time. The search for a fabled city that was once home of the most advanced humans of their time...a race of humans fabled to be the descendants of gods...(that's a toss up right their)...anyway, it still hasn't been found. It was written about by Plato about 2500 years ago...about a race that lived 9000 years before him. It may just be me, but I personally think that the geology of the oceans might have changed a touch in the past 11,500 years. I bet ya'll are wondering where I'm going with this...give me a minute, I'll figure it out. The Ark is told to be in a "holding area" in Ethiopia... First, if the real religious nut cases (no offense meant) out there really thought it was there, they would've already gone in there with guns-a-blazing to get it. Second, if anybody with real world power (any world leader) thought it was there, they would send armies to go get it. Third, THAT'S WHY IT'S PROBABLY THERE! No body believes it is, so it's safe. However, I personally don't think it will ever be found. Same goes for the Holy Grail (and no, I'm not talking about the whole bloodline of Christ thing...there was a cup and it was called the Holy Grail). For all those who don't believe in a God of any kind...look at it, just for a moment, from this point of view...and for those who do believe...look at this for a somewhat realistic point of view... Would, God, or an entity there of, leave such powerful objects for the likes of us to find? Even if we were unable to tap into the Holy power they once contained, their religious symbolism would have just as much power. To my knowledge, no one on this planet would be able to use this kind of power sanely much less responsibly. So many people spend their lives searching for such powerful and mystic objects and I say they never will find them. For those who don't believe, then they never existed; for those who do believe, then do you think those kinds of things would be left laying around. And you know, I can hear an argument forming now..."Why wouldn't God want everyone to know it was all real?"...Because, the point of the Christian faith...the simple faith in God is that you take that blind leap of faith. Such a thing as these wondrous places and things, they will never be found. We can only hope that those who search, one day, will find enough evidence to please themselves. Besides...would we, as an "advanced" race, ever be ready for such a thing? Would we, could we be responsible with them? Or would we try our best to exploit them to gain a short foothold of the "upper-hand"? I say, keep looking...it makes TV interesting.
