Description

So this is a basic modification of the standard Marine with very dark and worn looking textures to create a good base for adding on various adornments to create a chaos feel (which hasn't been done here this is just the base as it were). The shoulder pads have been left blank here and will be reworked again with symbols and add on accessories particular to various characters. The accesories all have kept the orginal Marine textures they came with (such as the bolter, pouchs, etc). The only real work here is on the armor texture itself. It's quick and dirty stuff, certianly nothing noteworthy but after several frustrating attempts trying to map the existing chaos marines which are unfortionatly not textured I decided to try this approach using the existing texture maps on the obiwan marines as a base and guide. Think of the Marine in this render as a basic trooper from the Horus Heresy era. The overall final scheme ended up with enough neutrallity to provide a broad general base for creating more detailed chaos characters. Note that several of the excellent orginal obiwan textures can be used as a base for several of the chaos marine types with only very minor modifications, this was just kinda an experiment. ^^ Oh and this is probably best viewed at full size if you really want a good look at the texture particulars.
