Before posting here I would never imagine to convert a bright colored flower picture into a B&W image... I saw many (remember Nathalie's mimosas...) and finally did it also... your iris image is brilliant and highly effective in B&W ! Well done, Egmont !

Thank you for your thoughts Michel. It is different, it alters one perspective on how we view flowers since we see them primarily only in colour. This iris is of a very deep purple, a very striking flower that reveals only its true colour when lit from behind.

wonderful result, my friend, although I feel the dark outside framing is somewhat contradictory to the curvature of the irises, while the inner thinner one works perfectly.

I love the abstract quality of this. Shooting in b&w brings out a different level of enjoyment! Beautiful shot.

It just struck me when taking several looks, comebacks, and reviews of this flower post in its B&W version. It reminds me of something similar hanging on doors of closed establishment or restaurant. "Till Death do us part". Excellent details of flower when zoomed. Aloha

That kitchen studio treats you well Egmont. You flower photos are what made me a fan of your work years ago. This gem is no execption, the level of detail and texture in the casual seeming composition makes for very rewarding viewing. Have a lovely weekend.

Your flower series is great! I'm assuming you are using the macro lens?

It's amazing the amount of detail we look at when presented with images of flowers in B&W!! Not distracted by the beauty of the flowers colours, it leaves us looking deeper at the shapes, shadows, light and textures. Amazing series and beautifully presented. xx
