Description

This image violates all "rules" of composition. Angles, locations of prime parts of the shot..evenso, I like this in a moody sort of way. This is not the image to put over your favorite chair but one to see once, perhaps twice, once in a while. This image was inspired by one posted by Janiss.

It is a wonderful shot Tom. I like the mood here too, the B&W works very well indeed. In answer to your question.. This is the stuff of nightmares for me... No, I could not walk to the top of the stairs here. It is made worse for me because the stairway is open, I could see below me.. I shall wait at the bottom of them for you to come down!!! Hugs and God Bless. Diane.

I actually like this composition too. And your B&W conversion is something I'm going to have to learn more about - I'll check your thread out in the forum on it. Well, I guess that's both of us in the dog-house this week then for rule breaking, but this has turned out brilliantly. xx

rules are there to be bent sometimes :) The diagonal of that bottom staircase really draws your eye in. B&W suits it very well too

Great composition...the pipes or vents coming out of the window really sets this apart from other similar shots. Well done!!

I think it is fine in terms of composition - the main focus is on the top left third intersection and the diagonal goes from the bottom left to top right intersections. Not sure about the rule of diagonals but hey, it looks good anyway - who cares! :) I'm still trying to work out if these stairs are broken or not, there is a weird collection of things at the top of the "main" staircase. Nice job in black and white :)

The oddity of the angles make the textures and reflections more prominent. BJ

I do not think it violates the rules at all, I think the angles are a perfect example of lines! The lines take your eye to the top of the photo :) The window angles are opposite, so depending on your mood, you get a different set of lines drawing you in a different direction. Facinating.

Whoah! Climbing to the sun. This is so urban. I like it.
