Redemption
I have redeemed my self
a vision of surprise
caught like a hidden smile
a pocketful of stolen moments
spilled upon the floor
and hastily swept aside
in hopes of non-discovery
ignoring all self-evident truths
I have redeemed my self
heading once again into the fray
heedless, blind and unwary
treading upon the graves
of a thousand past mistakes
forgotten in time and laid waste
to rot upon the killing floor
wilted flowers of old desire
spread hastily in dark seclusion
to celebrate my own demise
the shadowing of my dreams
lost in self-redemption
