Description

Upload: 012 V Title: Golden Galore - iris, Dedicated to Tofi Series: Till death do us part - First photograph of three Location: My kitchen studio Date: April 22, 2007 Image: N03707M1b2HDR Camera: Nikon D70, Full Frame, natural daylight w/fill card Commentary: From time to time we are all inspired by other peoples work here at Renderosity and sometimes we even act upon those inspirations, creating our own art. Recently I visited the gallery of Tofi and was moved by a number of her floral photographs (Parrot Tulip 1 and Toxic Beauty), that shortly thereafter I gathered a few of my favorite iris flowers from the garden and started to work. This resulted in the series 'Till death do us part' based upon the flowers growing and extra off-spring next to the open flower which does not expose its beauty until the main flower has died. So I would like to dedicate this series to Tofi, AKA: tofi's Gallery. Other work by cameraobscura2 can be seen at Timeless Photo .

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and commenting. Vielen danke das sie die Zeit genommen haben meine Arbeit zu betrachten und darauf zu Kommentieren. Egmont

Fantastic details and tones. It's amazing to see how the flowers in b&w tones look like. Stunning work!!

The B&W I think shows off the details more than if it was in colour ... the colours would vie for attention. Beautiful tones and dedi to Tofi

You mention to be sometimes inspired by other members'work, great for us as we have now the pleasure to admire your serie. I really like the B&W and the 3 photos that tell us a full story and force us to look into details to the beauty around us. Gorgeous result.

Thank you Egmont for the dedication. I feel really touched. It greatly warm my heart (especially now, when the physical pain, is "darkening" my days, disallowing use of my right hand). Beautiful photographs in B/W rendition, which is not an easy "proposition"; You have definitely displayed a lot of knowledge and technical skills. You have used light perfectly, as to stretch the tonal range, adding interesting shadows of the lighter grays, achieving very nice, airy look of the petals. The title of the series..."Till death do us part" (or perhaps .... Until we meet again) very insightful and lends to much introspection. Congratulation on this exceptional series of photographs. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and skills with us.

Yes, a wonderful dedi to Tofi (I hope the physical issues improve). The most complex of this series, I find it the most rewarding as well. The varied light and amazing textures really keep the eyes active and happy while the mind wanders to ponder the title and how it applies.

Very impressive philosopher's image! Suberb composition, wonderful harmony of the fresh and faded petals... A sublime picture and a very delicate dedication! Warmest regards, Valentin.
