Description
I have always loved the dropship sequence from Aliens, so I guess this series of works, the Eclipse series has been inspired by it. I always wanted to see more of the dropship and the apv in action. They were so cool looing. :D

"Aliens" is one of my all-time favourite movies and the Colonial Marine Corps were very influential on me (and indeed many games and movies). The entire dropship sequence, from the marines boarding the APC, Corporal Ferro counting down as the military drumbeat plays in the background, to the dropship unloading the APC, was easily one of my favourite moments in the movie. The UD-4 "Cheyenne" dropship and M577 APC were amazing looking designs but in a way I am kind of glad that they only showed them in small doses, rather than showing them firing off their ordnance. If those vehicles had been in a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone, you'd know there would have been a sequence worked into the script just so the big action hero can use the big guns. I kind of liked how the equipment available by the marines wasn't necessarily used. It made a change from every other movie. As for your image here, you have produced another top quality piece of work. I really am spoilt for choice when it comes to trying to pick my favourites among your art. They are all consistently great. There is a real sense of speed in this scene, from the effects you have used, and it gives the scene a sense of urgency as the vehicles move in, guns ablaze. I am intrigued to know what they are actually shooting at and whether they are clearing a path before troops possibly deploy or whether they are providing close support to forces already on the ground. I also like what appears to be a resemblance of the atmosphere processing plant, in the background. Hopefully no stray rounds go into that thing or there will one giant thermo-nuclear explosion and it will be "Adios muchachos". ;-)

awesome battle scene. fragments & shrapnel in the air is a cool touch.
