Description

"Si vis pacem, para bellum" is a Latin quotation meaning, "If you seek peace, prepare for war". It was spoken by Roman military writer Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus. The Latin phrase inspired the photo. Model is my daughter, gun is an unloaded BB gun. Skyline is of a gas refinery plant on the outskirts of the city. I am not a political person by any means. So making such a statement is unlike me. But I'd have to say the phrase reflects the world in which we live today. Thank you for viewing. Peace and love to all.

Stunningly thought-provoking. A beautiful shot with such wonderful colours in the sky and I love the way your daughter is silhouetted - the dove, did you add this to the pic in postwork? I assume so. Great capture. xx

I add my voice to those above... great location choice, great p.o.v., great interpretation of subject matter and illustration of theme requiring no explanation at all... though I'm glad you provided it. Extremely effective portrayl, beautifully executed.

"Oil is a magnet for war. Oil starts wars." We live now in the era of Peak Oil. Everything people in developed nations do to diminish human dependency on oil helps improve world security and geopolitical stability. A powerful, moving image and a profound statement!
