Description

I just got back from a trip to Bowling Green, Ohio, to visit a good friend of mine. Aside from finding out all the fertile farmland was once part of the Great Black Swamp(tm), Bowling Green was much more progressive. These are a pair out of four turbines the city had set up, the first windmill farm in Ohio. The things are huge, approx. 75 feet high, and according to the brochure they're very heavy--which makes sense to use inertia once they start moving. Some people don't like them, but I found watching the four giant turbines turning over from a few miles away fascinating, like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Looks like our future, I've heard these are not so good for the birds, they tend to fly into them... But the wind energy is incredible!!!!! great shot!!!!
