Description

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback with this image in an earlier upload. I opted to leave the lights as they were as I really liked the mood/atmosphere and it was bang on with what I was going for. However, I did venture into the material room and with the help of suggestions given here and over at RDNA, I manipulated some of the materials to give them a better look. I also left out the scanlines. The vases now have a porcelin look to them, the back wall has been lightened, AO has been added to select skin areas, and the highlights on the dress and shoes have been increased to give the look of glossy silk. It was suggested that I alter the figure's placement so that she is more to the right. I tried to accommodate that but was unable to as it would have involved changing too much of the scene and losing the figure's shadow on the green wall. I also tried to add a skin shader but that didn't work out very well and she ended up looking "Vampyrish". I'm done with this image as I've been working on it for days and days and I'm pretty tired of it and ready to move onto something else. One day if I ever figure out skin shaders, I may revisit it again.

Great! No need of complicated skin shader here, the overall mood does it all!

Nice touches with this render. I like the detail added by the various shadows and the little bits of reflectivity work really well. The wood and vases look really realistic. Great image.

Hard work pays. This looks wonderful. Looks perfect to me, no need to change anything, IMHO.

The only real issue I had with previous version was the scan lines, so this is only a good change for me. There is going to be some point of compromise for practically anything you do, I think it's important to keep it fun without making it drag - and to keep learning. Very nice changes to the materials
