Whenever I see a knot I must always insure that it is sound. The only unsound knot I have is a "granny." I was never taught the correct way of tying my shoes with a bow of square knot form and thus they often came loose but not frequently. In this way I learned the utility of common sense rather than a harsh discipline of rigid form. I would not go sailing with anyone who used this form until he/she first verified to me it was a legitimate hitch safe for the full wieght of a large man. I would insist that it had met a long test of time. The same for the colorful cordage. Neither is excluded by this image. Neither is included.
