Description

Happy accident. I was capturing in jpeg and I think the blue smoke color comes from the camera miscalculating in the auto white balance mode. I later found that in the RAW mode that the smoke was more grey than anything and I could shift the color from blue to a gross yellow by changing the color temperature slider in the RAW editor. Anyway, still playing with trying to get the waterdrop frozen, in focus and still get enough light on the smoke but thought this was worth sharing. Thanks to those comments on my last upload and man you guys have some good eyessight. I went back and did some heavy noise reduction with Neat Image and was able to get a lot of the splotches out and the image still looked pretty good but softer. Mike

Awesome image! I've been admiring your photos for some time and they just keep getting better. I use an Olympus C700 and I can't remember ever seeing a shutter speed to match yours. I hope you'll visit my gallery.
