Description
Canadian Geese are everywhere in the mid-west part of the United States. This is the mating season, so they are very protective of each other and very skittish during this season.
I like this photograph because it truly depicts the way these geese take off for flight. They push themselves forward with their legs, more so than smaller birds, to get air under their wings, just like a plane does. I guess that is because of their heavy body weight. This is also the reason you never see them landing on trees or walls. Their momentum is just too great to make a very accurate landing.

There are lots of Canadian Geese where I live, and they're having babies already, it's lovely to see that. You captured this one beautifully, it's indeed very funny to see them take off or land.

Perfect shot of this guy. We have so many resident Canada geese that I stop noticing them. They'll be hatching young soon, and that's always fun to see.
