Description

This is a nice green capture showing where the Whitby to Scarborough UK railway used to run before it was closed in 1962...45 years ago. The journey was amazingly scenic and I would have loved to be on that train.

This looks like a wonderful place to walk. Thanks for sharing this! 1962 was 45 years ago? How the heck did THAT happen?

lol...auntietk.. Beautiful shot, David... I bet, late at night, when the moon hides in fear of midnight behind an ominous black cloud, and a mates on the road home after knocking back a couple at the local, you can still hear the ghost of a train whistle, chill the air as it echos down through that enchanted forest... or not.

Now this just typifies English greenery!! You know, it's nice to go somewhere hot for a holiday, but you can't beat coming back home to scenery like this!! Just beautiful, so idylic. Great shot David. Lovely!!! xx

OOH! I want to see the fairies too! They have begun reclaiming old rail tracks here too, turning them into lovely rambles and bike paths. BJ

I can just imagine what an uplifting experience it must have been to be enveloped by the green tunnel. Very well composed and great significance to the somewhat sad mood about it all. Well done Sir D!
