I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Most cool!

Superb sci-fic scene..love the texture and model! :)

Very well done, but the engine flares seem to react badly to the ambient light and perhaps need a re-think. However, this doesn't really matter because in 30 seconds this ship is toast! 5

Most excellent :)

Interesting model : previous ones weren't intricate enough - Agreed with TheBryster about engine flares... Don't u use alpha rendering for your ship's integration ? Need a little more work on the background too : drop an eye on Hubble's pictures and you'll have an idea of how much colorful our universe is !

Superb modeling!! Love the lighting and the composition! This is one could see as part of a television show!

I missed this one when you first posted it, I'm glad to see it now. Your space art is always distinct and appealing. I know next to nothing about rendering and so I couldn't offer any pointers, but it's also nice to just enjoy the image. This has me thinking about some of the stuff C.J. Cherryh wrote, especially back in the 1980s and 1990s, in her Alliance/Union universe. The ships look different here, but the vibe of this image makes me think of Rimrunners, one of my favorite Cherryh novels...or even Heavy Time, which wasn't interstellar so much as Sol-system interplanetary, but with the overall vibe of this image.
I notice the engine flares don't react well to the planet. I wonder if you could just render them in photoshop, using a tweaked lens flair as an overlay. Just a thought; I've played around with modified photoshop stuff in "unusual circumstances." I'll have to say that this image is also inspiring me to return to Nemaea. I haven't done any Nemaean art in forever. I need my old stock material, but I'm sure I can come up with something. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy your spacecraft and your drama rich scenes.
