Description

G'day All! I was going through my last lot of photos I took & came across this one. The quality wasn't that good, there was glare off the glass (as seen across his arms) & it was way too grainy. Not sure what I did wrong. LOL Well I thought I'd try it in a different tone like an old photo. I think it came out ok so I thought I'd show you guys for your input & maybe tell me what I did wrong for the original pic to come out way to grainy..... Well thanks for viewing & as always your comments, helpful tips are always appreciated! Happy Snapping! Shane

maybe if you put up the exif data it would be easier to tell why the shot was grainy... but generally i would think a high ISO would do the trick ;) Anyway - this shot is great, even in the thumbnail you could realise the power of the animal in his pose... works well as an "old" photo and i think danny is right, have a dabble with some contrast tweaks and you might be able to reduce the effect of the glare.

The treatment worked! I agree that a touch more contrast could be had but the way it is seems very consistant with an aged photo. Very nice.

Very nice work, I agree that more contrast might do the trick but the grain and glare add a certain retro something to the image. It would be nice to se the original and a "rescued" image side by side for comparison!

Very nice shot even with the glass reflection. I think you succeeded with the old picture look.

Have to agree with others on the contrast...a slight tweak might help the overall look to it...but overall it's a great portrait of this intimidating gorilla...Nice work~ Aloha~
