Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Perfect pose/title. Good luck with the concert -- those are hectic, I know, and often fun but always tense.

Perfect crop, it adds so much more to the environment as well as a holiday mood to it. You "model" seems to be very happy. Good luck with the concert.

Isn't that Kate Winslett on the bow of the Titanic? But where is Leonardo de Caprio? Good POV, DOF and subject matter in this capture! Incidentally, she sure is thin.

It's very sweet, and has such a wonderful, refreshing, and easy-going feel to it. I like this for being exactly what it is...a spontaneous capture of a beautiful, happy moment in time. And that's always a treat to see... :^) Thank you for sharing it here with us, Jodie. Good luck with the concert. -M :^)

The red in this scene really makes the photo. It really ties your young model to the background. As a snapshot, outstanding!

I'm faving it for your daughter and for the reddish hues of her hands & face that, to me, not only match her clothes, but make her like a star against the sweeping backdrop of that harbor. I've seen several portraits in your gallery—especially your children—where you captured that reddish glow; I wonder if it isn't in you and just radiating out like spirit (!), but I've seen it more than a few times, and it's subtle but just wonderful. As for the harbor, I've been there, found Duluth to be a very old-looking and rustic city, a bit like the old New England Sea towns (or the towns of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, same Lake); and found the harbor to be very vast in feel. You caught that feeling, partly in the long pier (and the boat in the background) but also in the grayish blue that makes it seem outside time (Lake Superior can feel that way)...She looks like she's dancing on air...Well, I liked this shot when I saw it a while back, and I'm finally commenting on it now. So! Page 6, I got to you at last! I'll be back—these "old shots" have a lot to say to me...
