The battle was hard fought, but the odds were too overwhelming against them. Fearing for the Heir's life, the royal seeress managed to summon an escape portal before she herself succumbed to her wounds. Though in her heart she wished nothing but to stay and fight with her people, Anya knew that for their sake, she had to take a chance with the portal, for she had to live and continue the struggle another day, another time. Her legs felt heavy as she stepped up to the portal, which was already shimmering and threatening to disappear. She never got to know where it would lead her, but there was no time for choices.
