I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

I've not seen anything like this before, but it certainly is beautiful and different; I love the soft, pastel coloring. Excellent picture!!

My aloe has spikey edges!! I think this might be an aloe flower, very cool catch Dennis. they don't bloom very often, at least the house plants don't...

I posted one about a month ago like this only younger. The mother plant has stubby, green on green striped or lined or somewhat dotted leaves. They also have thorns on them. The plant is broad in comparison to the typical aloe vera plant you have in mind but yes, this is another variety of aloe vera. Very beautiful capture here.

I think its aloe too. I remember Dave's father had sent flowers similar to this......it was from an aloe plant. And yes, the aloe leaves does have spiky edges. Excellent shot. Aloha

Stunning shot! It's interesting to see the different bud and flower stages on a single spike. Gorgeous colors, especially the PURPLE! :)
