Description

Another flower from the San Diego area, and another that I can't identify. I think this might be agave or aloe. The leaves looked like aloe, but they had thorns on the edges, and no aloe that I know does. But then I don't know beans about desert plants, living in the rain forest as I do. :-) Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

I've not seen anything like this before, but it certainly is beautiful and different; I love the soft, pastel coloring. Excellent picture!!

My aloe has spikey edges!! I think this might be an aloe flower, very cool catch Dennis. they don't bloom very often, at least the house plants don't...

I posted one about a month ago like this only younger. The mother plant has stubby, green on green striped or lined or somewhat dotted leaves. They also have thorns on them. The plant is broad in comparison to the typical aloe vera plant you have in mind but yes, this is another variety of aloe vera. Very beautiful capture here.

Wonderful work, as usual! I looked it up and decided on aloe, as well.

I think its aloe too. I remember Dave's father had sent flowers similar to this......it was from an aloe plant. And yes, the aloe leaves does have spiky edges. Excellent shot. Aloha

Stunning shot! It's interesting to see the different bud and flower stages on a single spike. Gorgeous colors, especially the PURPLE! :)
