You have a lot of sea/ocean scenes in your gallery. Very good ones, too. On this one, the terrain water may be a bit too much, at least without the ships pitching more. More fractal veins in the water, lower its amplitude and add postwork spray. That would make for an interesting concoction. Smoke in Vue is difficult to make look decent. I'd postwork that, too. Sorry, being too picky I guess. Only wish to see all Vue artists become masters!

Nicely done, I agree with RBlue but I like the way you have captured the lull before the storm.

Agree with RBlue. Also, since your waves are so pronounced, try showing the ships rising or crashing through them. Try looking at old films of WWI and WWII fleet/ship movements through large/stormy waves. Lots of rolling and pitching, and LOTS of bow-wave spray. Try too, to reduce the reflectivity of the waves, they look a little too metallic. A good start though.
