Description

Um... For some reason I knew exactly how I wanted this image to turn out and it actually came pretty close :P I had decided that I wanted a dragon for my desktop. As for the name, it was either this or 'The Dragon Whisperer' and since thats just cheesy, I chose this instead :P I spent some time on the pose and lighting cuz I wanted to make sure her hand looked like it actually was touching the dragon and I wanted the lighting to look like they were in a cave with maybe a small fire going. And I did add a soft focus (my all purpose quickie/cheater way of adding some magic to an image) as well as some minor touchups in postwork :) Not much more to say, hope you like it :D TY for any comments!

Nicely done, Anasta. Dragons are a passion of mine, too (been watching too much "Eragon" lately - lol)and have been for years.

Very nice image. I particularly like the woman. The shape of her face and the glow of her skin is beautiful. I'm not completely convinced by the dragon's texture, particularly the underbelly. The lower portion looks stretched out and you can see fairly clear seams. When working with DAZ dinosaurs, I found I had to paint in highlights in their eyes; you might want to try that here to give the dragon's eyes a bit more life. I also like to use soft focus or diffuse glow in a lot of my work. My pet technique is to have a sharpened layer with a black layer mask above the soft layer. By painting with white on the layer mask, you're able to paint in sharpness where you want it -- around the eyes and lips -- while keeping the soft look in the rest of the image.

Very sweet image, and the hand posing is spot on. Good texture on the dragon and the girl and I love the hair. My only suggestion would be for the dragon to either look at her, or close his eyes as if he's absorbing the healing. Good Job!!

I think you hit your marks just right... the lighting does, indeed look like a cave with a campfire going.... especially, it does look like she is actually touching the dragon. Lou.

Th pose is very good, getting her hands right probably was not easy. The light is good, makes the scene intresting. The texture of the dragon IMHO is too blurry, the eyes could need reflection or Highlight. A displacement map would be cool too. The healer looks great, although her skin could need some nodes as well. All in all a great picture.

The dragon textures are lacking to say the least and it isn't any fault of yours. Dragon, wyvern, wolf, etc. the textures aren't usually up to par with the human figures. That being said, its still an awesome render as when I look past the dragon texture, I see the wonderful posing and light effects. Soft focus is or should be everybody;s best friend. To be honest the only part of the dragon that looks funky to me is the belly. This still gets 5 I think otherwise it would be 5+ ^^ BTW awesome insight alanpfd! This will come in quite handy for me I'm sure ^^

Very cute and classy, nice style. I don't know if this can be done easily, but if you could get the dragon's to show a little emotion (pain, affection or something) and maybe a little more interaction with the healer that would be very fine. Really great job with the hand posing under the dragon's chin.

Lovely! I agree about a bit of emotion in the dragon's face; also maybe a bit more concern or caring in the face of the healer. I love the way her hand lovingly rests on the dragon's head, like someone comforting their family pet.
