Description

Scorpion Brigade: well its been a bit so I thought I would share my prog on the Halo stuff Im working on. I have a few things on the go so, there is almost no post again on this Image, all of this image was rendered in max,I also used this image as a lighting test using (Ambient lighting only) I think it gives a more of a ceil style rendering. I hope you all like, and thanks all for the comments on my last postings! CHEERs,.

Cool action shot, there is a sense of the soldiers surveying before moving forward. The tanks, immediately in the background are covered by a nice haze to give the feeling of depth. My only suggestion: the two guys with helmets and face showing; their faces should have some shadowing around the edges inside to show the depth of their face behind the helmet- putting it at a level deeper than the helmet's visor. Perhaps even shading the actual texture map would be a quick solution not requiring extra render time to accomplish. I dig the image, but I know you are working on a big project and deserve far more in-depth real world critique than the generic fare of feedback given here (IE- "Wonderful Work!!!!" doesn't help any of us to grow when we are serious about producing a film or production). I like the atmosphere, the position and posing of the characters, the sense of creeping upon the enemy, and the lighting- these works in progress are coming along very well! Building much anticipation for animated shots!

Awesome work for a test render. Feels a little more like a real-time game render than most of your work. It looks like a beautiful day to go into battle!

Man, if this is just a test render... I love the grass and the rubble! You're right about the ambient light, it does give the scene a cel-shaded look which is great-especially for comics. You have enough detail here to go with global illumination or even HDRI lighting. Either way, you're doing great work as usual! Can't wait to see where you go with this next! JT

Bro, I wish I had new comments to keep up with your ever increasing talent. I feel like I'm saying the same things over and over, but you know I am a true fan of your work. You have the "stuff" my friend. I can't imagine that it will be long before you go pro. Keep it up, your a true inspiration to all aspiring artists. As far as this image goes. I love the armor textures, and your trademark attention to detail is as perfect as ever. The tanks in the background are a nice touch. And your modeling skills are mindblowing. Everything looks exactly like it does in the game. Excellent!!!
