Description

Captain Dokka said over the intercom, to the passengers in the back, "I need to let White-Lady, 518, Johani, and Ahrini off before I meet with Princess Safira. I don't know if Prince Salva would be there or not. Since the situation is so touchy right now, I'd rather not answer questions we don't have answers for. Report to your racial depots' check-in and meet me at my residence at 1500 hours." 518 looked over at Neblae and said, "Look at ramp until we're off-loaded. I don't want you to get dizzy. Since you...uh...have partial amnesia and still recovering from a blow to the head." Neblae glared at him. She wasn't used to be called 'Ahrini', but she had eagerly taken the dead girl's identity to get to Flying city 64, so she could pilot. Her mock brother looked at her with sad, hollow eye. He knew. He had to know. Neblae swallowed hard as the ramp of the shuttle dropped to a small platform sticking out into the wide sky. Johani ran ahead like the wind, followed by White-Lady, the all too tall telepath. 518 strode down the ramp, followed by 'Ahrini'. Neblae climbed the couple of steps to the bridge to a wide metal wall. She looked up and the light gleaming from Novo Paradisio, the sixty-fourth of the flying cities, dazzled her with it's beauty. The gleaming spires were untouched by the horrors of the surface. She whispered in stunned shock, "It's SO big!" She was still staring when a small blue Deva woman swept into 'Ahrini's arms and kissed her full on the mouth. Neblae jecked back in surprise and goggled at the woman. F'loona, the Deva shouted, "Oh my GOD! Ahrini! Ahrini! I thought I'd lost you! I thought you'd died!" Neblae looked through the dead woman's memories stored in the mysterious alien jewel in her stomach for answers. After a moment, 'Ahrini' said in a sick, strangled voice, "Oh, yeah--HI, ah...F'LOONA! Yeah--F'Loona--I'd have died if not for a rescuer, and the prototype RIF generator I'd installed on my workbee. It...uhmmmm--worked!" 518 said loudly, "Ahrini! You don't have time to fraternize right now! You have to check in, and we have a meeting to go to! Hurry up!" Neblae sighed in relief and snapped a salute at 518, and said,"YES SIR! Gotta go! See ya,F'Loona!" Neblae left at a dead run past the telepath, leaving 518 to answer any of F'loona's questions. Neblae had only skimmed though some of Ahrini's stored memories. She had NOT notice that F'Loona was not only Ahrini's best friend and wingman, but lover as well. Since Neblae was NOT a lesbian--this might be a REAL problem! --TO BE CONTINUED!-- Media is Poser 7, Blacksmith 2.2, PSP7, Vue 6 Espit,Wings3d, and a lot of sweat and blood! I FINALLY got city 64 to look the way I always wanted to begin with. I had built it in Vue and hated how it looked so bad for years!! Now I don't! Wheeeeee!

I like the top image, with the two 'people' , and the bottom one with the city. The outside view of the city is quite realistic looking, and I wouldnt have minded visiting. The 'warehouse' interior in the middle (and in previous posts) doesnt appeal to me at all. The creatures look good - you should have more closeups in the future.

Good effort here. I particular like the third image and it would be particularly nice if some of the cloud overlapped the edge of the city in the foreground. It would make it look like it's sat just above the clouds. Good modelling work too. Well done!

I agree that the first and the last ones are the best, although the middle one is needed to give a idea of where the persons are. i think that you should change the pose in the second one to make it feel like some time has passed since the first one, and maybe also work a bit on the pose of the guard to make it more living. In the last image i believe that the size of the "windows" on the buildings are a bit to large and that slightly diminish the effect of the city being really huge. Also the small buildings might need some more contrast to make them more visible. Overall i think its a really nice series that creates a living world with only 3 images.

wow. i think these images are worlds better in terms of lighting and composition than your earlier work. you've really improved. your visual story telling is getting better and better. the figures are a bit lost in the middle one, but overall, i think your skill is growing by leaps and bounds. the warehouse interior which seems to be "urban future" by stonemason, and i like how you've used it. great colors and clarity.

I actually like all 3 images, and really have no complaints about the 2nd landing platform scene. The cities and the skyline are fantastic and believable. The cities down in the clouds are cool! Your work inspires me to flesh out my own story universes. [on soapbox] I only wish more people would view work like this instead of going crazy for nudity. [off soapbox] Excellent work!

Really impressive Joel, very cool modeling work. The bottom image could use a little shadow falling across the city bits, but small thing, overall a huge impressive piece of work.
