Description

I won't keep you in suspense. These are styrofoam balls, perhaps five inches across, covered in feathers. They have string loops on them that enable one to hang them as ornaments. Some of you will not be surprised that they belong to my friend Ann. Now I want credit where it's due, folks! Ann does not live within walking distance of me, as some of you have imagined. When I sally forth to obtain interesting images to share with you, I'm making quite an effort on your behalf! It takes me 30 to 45 minutes to drive to Ann's place, and it's not on the way to anywhere else, either. I'm making a special trip just for you, and I want you to be suitably impressed by my dedication! (Aren't we supposed to suffer for our art or something?) Many of the photos I've shared with you have come from my general neighborhood area - I won't lie to you. But not the shots from Ann's place. I know some of you believe I have quite a garden, but that's not true either. While I'm out taking pictures, the weeds are taking over my garden! It's pretty pathetic, actually. I used to have a lovely garden. It's still there, it's just covered in horsetails and buttercups. Oh, by the way: I clone-stamped the feathers onto the frame in Photoshop. I don't have any fancy framing plug-in thingies.

Very stunning work and capture and subject. I thought maybe they were halved gourds. Good eye.

Wonderful! Maybe a bit too heavy on the frame, that competes somewhat with the image.

Stick together. Great lighting effects, colors, POV, beveling and framework in this composition, Tara! Thank you for explaining the true nature of these objects in the photo. Actually, I didn't know that these weren't real avians at first. I kept looking for their heads! And, I had no idea that Ann lived so far from you. A neighbor, in my urban parlance, is anyone who lives within two blocks of my abode. As for your garden, nature marches on!
