Great pic. However, the driving wheel above the frame is stationary and should also be blurred along with the leading wheel for the effect. British steel rail surpassed American "strap rail". The refurbished and functional engine John Bull is in the Smithsonian and due to livestock allowed to wander on the tracks it was fitted with the first "cow catcher" It was designed to prevent animals on the track from going under the wheels and derailing the engine. The railroad at the time had to compensate the owner of the killed/injured animals.
