Description

Nikon 7900 simulated HDR image. There are two stories that go with this photo. The first concerns the subject matter of the image and the second concerns the process used to create the image. Story 1: This is (logically enough) a White-Tailed Dragonfly. I have been trying to get a good shot of one for two years but they are very skittish and the few shots I have managed to get always seem to be a bit unfocused or cluttered because this species perches on the middle of stems in grasses more often than on the ends of twigs or leaves. This is the best focused shot I ever got of one but it had definite problems beyond the clutter issue. Story 2

I haven't had a chance to check the thread out, but I will when I get back from work but this is one fantastic shot. The details are perfect - definite must view at full size and the DOF fantastic. Great capture. xx

Really fine close up, however I do not feel that the internal frame works to improve what is already a good photo.

Beautiful and I side with Garlor on the frame.

really wonderful work! I like the frame but I think I would use a slightly thinner line or one a little bit darker.

Yes, a thinner inner frame would be less distracting. My thoughts are take this one, layer it over your darker one, and reduce the opacity to about 40%. I think that would be a keeper (for me).
