Description

Thanks for watching! EDIT: ----- The rocks, plant and man form a straight line. The man, seagul 1 and seagul 2 form another line, that softly points to the sun, with the help of the main cloud. So, the whole image is a kind of a circle. The plant is only one because the plant is the man's companion. Everything else is in pairs (rocks, birds, suns).

Very moving and beautiful piece. Leaves a slightly lonely feeling. Very nicely done with the composition and lighting.

Wistful longing, I think. No REAL improvements that I can think of! I love the color and general feel to this piece. The plant looks way out of place, though. If fresh water--more plants needed. If salt water--maybe kelp washed up, but NO plants otherwise. If symbolic--the symbolism of this rather bland plant escapes me. Sorry, just shot the crap out of your plant! It just distracts from the rest of the image because of it's out-of-placeness. The rest is just wonderfully perfect by anyone's measure! ^__^ V,,

Thanks for comments! Regarding JOELGLAINE comment about the plant... Well, I do live near the sea, in "real life", and near a salt-water lagoon, and I can tell you that there are lots of plants in the sand very near salt-water. Lots. There are places with high plant density, others with low density. The scene I made is not unrealistic. Maybe simplistic, but not unrealistic. The plant is there for composition purposes. The rocks, plant and man form a straight line. The man, seagul 1 and seagul 2 form another line, that softly points to the sun. So, the whole image is a kind of a circle. The plant is only one because the plant is the man's companion. Everything else is in pairs (rocks, birds, suns).

Great mood, still makes me think a bit. I do understand the single plant, but it looks a bit strange. But really, a great one.

Very nice and mellow. Not your usual thought provoking, this is more peace provoking, relaxing. Zen. I am happy to say that I did get the straight line, rocks to plant to man. But the man to seagulls did escape me.

i think it's really lovely. the clouds especially, and i love how their reflection also completes the circle. also, i agree about the plant making sense. the ones i've seen weren't that close to the water, but all i've ever seen are beaches with high traffic. where i grew up, they actually protected the grass because they kept the dunes from blowing away. and the grass came down only as far as people were kept off them. iirc, it looked pretty nondescript, and much like the plant in the picture. the sunset looks almost unreal, but since the photos i've seen on stock sites look similarly unreal, i have to guess that moments of such peace and beauty just seem otherworldly. loving your work, as always.
