Description

Hope no one get upset here. I know it a touchy subject; I see people posting all the time photos of Ah cemetery always a good place to take photos of tombstones, stone carvings, flower bouckets as babuci said in the last image comment. But I never saw this done at a funeral. I took a few photos. I feel that no one would like it and I find out I was right. No one say nothing to me but the white shirt man wish some photos from me. I got more some looks surreal to me. So if you wish I post them here then get back to the dancers and other stuff I took photos of like a art walk and a office space people wish to rent. It never ends. thanks for the comments and all. I know I say I was not going to be around but I just got home and I tried. Ran off the road one time for falling asleep lol wake up in time. thank God. So I stop a few more times just to wake up

Well, sir, I got no problem with these photos. Its a ritual we all go through sooner or later on one end or the other. I usually take pictures at the viewing or quietly from a far corner of the church or cemetary - use the zoom. but this to me is a fitting and somber depiction and a good clear shot at that. I liek the ways the woods close in on the edge of the cemetery. Keeps the residents save and snug in the arms of mother nature. If someone objects to this it will have to be someone other than me.

Great POV, balance and lighting in this composition, Jocko! Photos like this don't bother me one iota. This is all part of existence. I like the orangey color of the dirt/earth/soil. Incidentally, we don't all end up like this....sometimes we're cremated, our ashes then put into a container or vase, or sprinkled into the ocean. Also, for a certain fee, you can have your ashes rocketed into outer space.

I have no problem with this shot at all Jock. It is an excellent capture. The only certain thing in life is death. If we make the most of the time inbetween we are doing OK. I would like to see your other shots. I am sorry you are so tired :-( Please take care.. I'll run and get a blanket and pillow, you can sleep under the tree with stars to look at above you. Take care. Hugs. Di.

people say that anything this side of dirt is doing pretty damn good and I agree. I bought two graves side by side years ago and have thought several times to sell since the value is way up.excellent capture

I've never seen this as part of the ceremony but it makes a lot of sense. Kind of a final closure I suppose. Interesting custom and a great shot!

When my father died, when I was a wee one, I remembe we all walked to the pile of dirt, like you have showing here, and one at a time we all took a handful of dirt, and through it in the hole on top of the coffin. I have never seen that done again, until I went to a funeral of a "Native American", and there I saw it done. It made me cry. This is a fantastic photo .. is this family members throwing shovel fulls of dirt in? And then workers follow later and finish filling the grave over?

intresting shot, just show them all, as someone stated earlier death is part of life too. I like this better then those heavie pothoshoped gothic grave stone pics, I think those are for the sedated people who linger in a sort of suicide romantism, your pics shows the real world, well done.

A shovel of dirt in the face and the insult of life is over. The one that began as the eyes peeped open after exiting the vagina.
