Description
Taken last September. Unfortunately I couldn't get a shot without people in, no matter how long I waited, but I think that they help to show scale. I've also tried everything I know to change the white sky but it always looks garish. Tried cropping but I think the tree line is an important feature. Has anyone got any ideas on this?
I'm planning a trip back to this fall in the not too distant future to try different povs.
Anyway, I'm away for most of the weekend on a climbing trip so I'll take this chance to wish everyone a good weekend. I'll try to get some good photos (whilst trying to stay alive at the same!lol).
Thanks for looking!

I love the addition of people in the shot, as you say, it gives a sense of scale, but I just think it adds to the overall scene. A great capture of this wonderous fall. As for the sky, this is one of my biggest problems that I face at the moment - I tend to use spot metering now and try to take a couple of identical shots (tripod required) but metering on different parts of the shot - set the spot to the sky to bring out the correct sky colours, which leaves the rest of the shot in darkness almost, and then spot on the main subject, a mid grey/green area which will give good exposure on the rocks, tress etc., but may blow out the sky - then, take them both into PS and "merge" the two captures. This isn't necessarily the correct way though, but I'm sure some of the experts here will be able to advise more on this subject or check out some of the threads in the forums - I've asked this question myself in there before. Hope this helps some. xx

As mentioned above, this is a perfect candidate for an HDR merger... Beautiful setting! If nothing else, wait until the people are in a position that is easily cloned, then click. The person to the left can easily be removed, but the guy behind the falls will be more difficult. Either way, its a job well done!

BibbyBear's advice is excellent way to do it and the people do give it scale.sky or no sky it is still a fine capture and beautiful falls
