Description

Moving left of yesterdays post "TGIF" , lava keeps on oozing out day after day, night after night and 24/7 since "1983" . The land is always growing and changing. This is the longest continuing eruption since I can remember. Aloha and thank you for viewing

The lighting is good in this, you can see definition in the lava field. I imagine the view really changes depending on the time of day. =)

I see a person holding or carrying something about in the middle...between the two orange areas. Great photo! Just keep that lava flowing so it's still going next time I get back there. :)

Excellent colours and contrast. Is it scary living somewhere that has lava eruptions?

onefeather...It seems like as long as this particular volcano (Pu'u O'o) continues to erupt, it release some of the pressure build up of Kilauea. But one can never tell as at times the tilt meter and inflation seems to be going up indicating that a larger scale of eruption may occur. Then it deflates. Earth quake tremors varies. But if this volcano does burst open again with intensity, most of the houses in this area has already been destroyed. There are a few more houses that are still in danger and hope their luck stays with them. The active volcano that we are really worried about is "Mauna Loa" , the worlds largest volcano. The most recent eruption was in 1984 and it was headed towards the town of Hilo (where I live). Thank God it stopped in time. Its not a matter of if but when it will erupt again. Thanks for asking... Aloha

Ah yes, the volcanos are just biding their time, waiting for the perfect moment(s) to erupt, spewing lava down the hills, etc., etc. The earth is a living entity (Gaia), and never still. In any event, Sharky, another superb capture of the ever boiling lava.
