Description
This is more of a test scene for a new piece of software I recently found. Basically its a procedural ivy grower - you import a model (it has to be in obj format) use the settings to configure the ivy growth features and watch the ivy grow around the model. You can then export the created ivy (in obj format again) ready for importing into your 3D program. Its free and is available for mac and linux users as well as windows:

Watch out you don't get carried away with how much you grow your ivy, my first test resulted in a 125MB object file :)
Credits to azer & Avalontree for the pot and cross meshes (3DC free stuff), Fworx for the columns (Turbosquid) and I think 3DPlants for the potted plants. Combination of Mojo textures and bitmap textures used here.

Very fine "tester", Lewis... I've wondered what you've been up to lately - and now I know. Keep 'em coming, please :)

Hi Lewis, this is original. The ivy looks quite realistic and so does the grass. Interesting how the ivy works by growing itself too.

Lewis a big thanks for the shared URL. Something I`ll defintely be looking into. I assume that Ivy to mesh collision is calculated as its something that MJT for me at current cant do, but what I always wanted it to do :) Cool find & once againa BIG thanks :)

Very nice, Lew! BTW, when you said "there
s one for the Mac too" in your IM, I was almost sure it was Ivy:) I downloaded it too a couple days ago () got the link in the modo community. I haven
t tried it myself yet, but heard that it produces very large sized files. How did`t work for you when importing?prutzworks
besides the technical aspects; a really nice scene setup
