Description
This collage is dedicated to 2 nature/wildlife photographers who I get alot of inspiration from, Klaus (kjweb) and Danny O'Byrne (danob). Yesterday I spotted this Green Heron. It was the first time I had ever seen one. What an awe-inspiring bird! I had to trudge through a marsh and stand in the water with my tripod to get a clear shot of this magnificent bird. Needless to say I was soak and wet. I watched in awe for an hour or so as he fished. It was cold and windy, but to me well worth the trouble. Hope you enjoy it. All shots were taken at f6.3, 400mm at various speeds. Please take the time to view the fullsize view for the best clarity.

i agree with TwoPynts, in the 1st pic he seems to be performing a strange tango. i like the 2nd pic best, most pics of this species don't seem to show the green at all, but you have really caught it.

I've seen a few of these guys, and they're my favorite heron. I have never in my life seen them so well photographed. Damn good work.
