Description

Back to the isle of Texel where I visited a greenhouse in which hundreds of tropical birds live. I don't know what species this is. It's without any doubt a bird from the tropics, possibly related to bee-eaters or maybe even a humming bird.. Who helps me to identify this emerald juwel in the air.

Lovely it looks like a Humming Bird sunning itself hard to tell from some of the ID aspects it may be White-vented Plumeleteer off the top of my head..

i think it may be a sunbird of some kind. sunbirds are the old world equivalent of hummingbirds, see http://www.montereybay.com/creagrus/sunbirds.html for some info and pics
