Description

Well, I spent alot of time thinking. I thought about the things that upset me and I thought about the things that I love about making things in Poser. After watching a few girlie movies and crying my eyes out at the end, I realized that if I let people get to me and give up now I'll never respect myself for it. So, in the end, I decided that I would keep making art as long as I followed a few rules I set for myself... ---1. I will not let people get to me. ---2. I will work hard to create my own, personal content to make my images original. ---3. I will always push myself to become a better artist, no matter what it takes. That said... This is a new character I'm working on (morph and texture by me, and its not some photo or scanned in image but a hand-painted texture I worked on for the last couple days.) The body is coming soon :P At first I didn't like the eye texture due to it not looking -realistic- but after it rendered, I changed my mind and stuck with it. This is a very difficult process. I want it to look good so it will take me a long time to have everything finished but I wanted to share with you what I have worked so hard on so far. I used the fantastic Sapphire Fox Hair by Quarker (cuz its... well... awesome! LOL) No postwork. Thank you for any comments :D

Looking good so far. Very beautiful from what I can see already. Will await the final character. You're right, gorgeous hair. Nice choice. Ana, Good for you! There is a saying that goes something like this: "You are the only person who can make you feel inferior." That means NO ONE can put you down. As long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything you set your mind to do. Who cares what anyone does or says about you. It does not matter. It's what you say about yourself that matters. Be strong and no one can ever make you feel bad about yourself. I have had 3 years worth of art shows, and if you think everyone had nice things to say about what I had up, that would be a laff. Most people will like your work. Don't let a few jealous/untalented types spoil all your sucesses. Cheers! Peter.

Nice job, but It looks (and this is only my opinion) she's slightly cross-eyed. Nothing wrong with that just observing. The only other thingI can say is that her eyes-slots make her look a bit like a doll or robot wit synthetic skin. Again this is only my opinion. I say ou're off to a really good start though. Stay strong trooper!

Interesting work. You might as well go the other way instead of realistic. That face texture looks to me like one of those porcelain dolls, pretty cool!

Nice work. As others have said, the hair is fantastic - it looks absolutely real. I quite like the skin texture too - it creates a look that I haven't seen elsewhere, and a distinct look can be a marvelous thing. The face morphs are also excellent - she has very nice reatures. Constructive criticism - Her eyelashes don't seem quite right to me somehow. I think perhaps that they're a bit too regular - maybe a little length variation would help? Of course, it's possible that it's just the angle that they're presented in the portrait, or maybe it's just me. :-) Keep up the good work!

There are a lot of things about rendering, and what certain people think of my work, that upset me from time to time. And why certain pieces are rated higher than others when I put more of a story behind it. It could be complete trash in my eyes while others love it. Then there was the whole Dazney thing. Overinflated quantity of comments does not crumble my cookie. Sure, I would like to see more than 12 or 15 comments on a particular work, but I'm o.k. with what I get and my art is out there for all to see. Its amazing how many voyeurs are out there (yes I am guilty of it, or at least till a few months ago). Anyway I'm just assuming and we all know what assume means ^_^ Bravo on the attitude, its like Krouser, he does what he likes and I really like him for that. And everyone finds a "niche" if you will. You put out awesome work and will only get better as you go along. This stuff either beats us or we beat the stuff.

Wow i can really say i think she looks gorgeous have to agree about the eyelashes maybe make them a tad longer but apart from that i think you have done a wonderful job i wouldnt know where to begin... and good on u a lot of comments hurt me also people dont realise that there is a human being behind the screen and that everyones taste are different.. if i dont like something i dont comment i wouldnt dream of hurting someones feelings just because my personal taste and because something doesnt please my eye.. but a lot of people get pleasure out of pointing out flaws.. in the poser game everyone is a learner as everyday there are new ideas and new products and the idea of a comment is to encourage and support a fellow artist...not to put there work down have a great day waffle over luv lou x

I'd say this is an excellent start... from the looks of things, the end result will be worth waiting for. The eyes, though... you might want to take a second look at how they're positioned. Lou.

I like it, as you say, it's a WIP. I don't understand the realism bug though. If you want super realism, take a photo. Less work. Art takes a lot more OOMPH to get the point across. Nice WIP and looking forward to seeing the finished girl. :)

Ana its good to have You back, dont you ever let anyone put You down. All the images You make is unike. Belive in Yourself, no one can take that away from You. I have had some realy bad comment on some renders. If You dont like it, dont give a comment that would hurt someone. Great WIP here, looking foreward to see more. Rock on!!! :)

---1. I will not let people get to me. ---2. I will work hard to create my own, personal content to make my images original. ---3. I will always push myself to become a better artist, no matter what it takes. Great rules to follow!! However I take them one step further!! I create art for me and no one else, it is just a bonus when other people like it along with me. I learned that a long time ago the hard way, I quit art for probably 10 years because I thought I was not good enough to please others. Now I am back with a cause to make up for lost time, and make myself happy doing what I love to do!! Hope all this helps you out you are a great artist and I would hate to see you falter because of numb skulls !! Great image by the way!! Sorry to rant!! Shawn

From an old Ricky Nelson song "you can't please everybody. so you gotta please yourself". I create what i like and for myself and if others feel the same way about it great What I like best about this render is that it is unique and not the same run of the mill character. Realism is great but not at the expense of creativity and originality looking forward to seeng the finished character

Sweet character - the shadow lines are hurting it... it mainly just the lighting set up - beautiful character

Her morphs are very sweet and the skin structure looks good so far, but the skin colour - well, I don't know what you are trying to achievem, a realistic look or a more faery-like one. If the first I would recommend a skin with more difference incolor, it is just too simular all over the face, and the lips edges were to hard. Especially the lids and the skin araound the eyes could be a little bit darker. If the second, I would also change the area around the eyes a little bit and turn down the bump strength so the skin looks softer. I'm curious for the finished char!
