LOL, I love how much your satirical figures look so much like the real things. I recognized Harry Reid right away. I'm not expecting him to eat that either, considering he denied the troops a .5 percent raise last week. :P

fyi: the pay increase of 3.5% (sections 601 and 606 of defense authorization bill h.r. 1585) passed the house on thursday by a margin of 397-27. the senate will be working on its version this week. the pay increase is 0.5 percent higher than the 3% the white house asked for, so the white house is threatening to veto it. from the army times: "white house: 3.5 pay hike unecessary" "... bush budget officials said the administration strongly opposes both the 3.5 percent raise for 2008 and the follow-on increases, calling extra pay increases unnecessary.
